TAIWAN PRESCRIBES A SMART HEALTH CARD

The Taiwan national Health Insurance Card has been issued to 24 million Taiwanese citizens in one of the world's most sophisticated health card projects. the initiative seems likely to serve as a roadmap for other countries looking to upgrade their own health cards to high-end smart cards like that of Taiwan.

Taiwan's chip-based health card aims to reduce unnecessary medical expenses by replacing various paper cards that individuals had presented when seeking medical services.
